Madera Books

Liberty Tree Photography

We were so flattered by the response of those of you that wrote about our books.  Thank you to all of you! We will continue to share them with everyone. Today we have a post from LIBERTY TREE PHOTOGRAPHY.

This season I switched album companies for my wedding clients and though I was excited about my choice (based on samples, research, and colleague referrals), I still felt a slight amount of hesitation and risk until I actually held the first one in my hand.

Well, let me say that any shred of doubt or second-guessing has flown out the window now as I’m completely in love with the finished product. This 10″ x 10″, 20 page (40 side) leather album and box cover weighs 11 pounds! It’s heavy, solid, and has a luxurious presence. The colour and clarity of the prints are perfect and I’m so excited for my clients to receive their package.

To be honest, though, I’m thinking of changing our names to Jake and Patricia and dying my hair red and just keeping it for myself ;P

Clients will have their choice of leather or linen cover and either a cameo picture window on the front or name/date imprinted on the front or side.

Thank you Emily for the lovely post and your beautiful photos!

Rachel Thurston Photography

We have another beautiful display of our books and a great post from photographer Rachel Thurston.  Here’s what she had to say:

I have been a busy little bee designing and laying out books for clients. I think this last month I designed 9 different books! It is so gratifying to print my images, bind them and hand a family heirloom over to eager eyes. Don’t discount the importance of printing your photographs. Photographs are something that increase in value over time..until there really isn’t a price you could put on them… because they are worth everything to you.

All of the weddings and portrait sessions I shoot now include prints or albums. They have to! It’s too important.

So, back to the point of this post…I started using a new book binding company for some of my high end bound books, Madera Books. I am so in love with the simplicity and quality of this book. Shown are a 12×12 size book and a 8×8 size book. The books feature a lay-flat page with an itty bitty crease and the printing is flawless.

I am so excited for Ryan and Carol to have this beauty in their hands. I am getting ready to send a big box of albums and prints to them in Australia!!

If anyone is interested in having me create one of these beauts for them, send me an email or give me a call. I would love to help you check that off your list.

Thank you Rachel!! To see the rest of her pictures visit her original post.

Christmas Deadline Reminder

I can’t even believe how fast time is flying….Christmas time is full blown in the city now and it’s not even December!! With that said we just wanted to send a little reminder about our ordering deadline.

If you’re wanting to have a book made in time for Christmas delivery, the deadline to get the book ordered is 11:59pm EST on DECEMBER 2nd. Ordering the book by December 2nd means that the book will be delivered to YOU before Christmas. If you need to ship the book once you receive it you’ll need to order the book a few days earlier.  Another option is to DROP SHIP the book directly to your clients.

This year we’re also going to add a RUSH option.  If for some reason you can’t get the order in by December 2nd you will have the option of paying a 30% rush fee which will give you an extra 5 days to get the book in.  11:59pm EST, December 7 will be the rush deadline.  Again, this will insure that YOU or the drop ship recipient will receive the book by Christmas.  If you need time to deliver or mail the book after receiving it be sure to allow a few extra days.

As always, if you have any questions, let us know.

Deborah Zoe Photo

You KNOW we like when you really love our books right? Well, we have another happy customer. Photographer Deborah Zoe had some very kind words to say and we wanted to share them with you.

Here’s what she had to say:

By now you should all know about my love affair with my album company Madera Books! I started working with them about two years ago and have been hooked ever since. The buttery leather covers, the clean simple lines, the beautiful craftmanship, these albums are just beautiful to look at!! It was a match made in Wedding Album heaven!

So when I received this new album in the mail I was elated…because this album is LARGE AND IN CHARGE!! It’s the 12×12 Deluxe Album and features over 40 pages of beautiful images! (By the time this shoot was done my arms were jello;)). I thought by modeling the album you’d get a better sense of just how big this baby is! Oh I just can’t get enough!

Remember this adorable couple? Who could forget their amazing New Hampshire farm wedding?!

When you open the book, you are welcomed to 24 inches of wedding day goodness. An impressive way to display your images and share your wedding day!

I know I’ve said it before, but wedding albums are important. Images are never meant to stay online or in a hard drive. Elegantly displayed in an album, your images suddenly come alive telling the story of your wedding day. Albums are an investment in preserving your wedding day for years to come!

Again, the pages lay flat so you’re not distracted by any unruly pages or large gutter. All you see is big, beautiful images!

I love how clean and beautiful full panoramic spreads look!
Whether closed or open, this album is impressive from all angles!
I truly didn’t think I could love my album company more…. but then… then they launched a new website chock full of new content including this amazing video! Check out how Madera creates hand crafted albums from start to finish… I think you’ll fall in love with them too! Enjoy!
Thank you so much Deborah!
