This week we have a post via TORI WATSON & ALIGN ALBUM DESING.  Tori is a photographer based in central Virginia, but available for travel anywhere your heart desires! She’s a wife, middle child, vintage-shopper and curly-hair enthusiast. Most importantly because of her love of rich family history, she is passionate about artfully documenting moments for the generations yet to come. They are featuring our 10×10 book in Oxblood. Enjoy her post!

The single product I am most passionate about for my clients is the wedding album. This gorgeous leather heirloom has been so meaningful to me, as a bride, and truly becomes the most impacting way that your children and grandchildren will get to relive and hear about your special day in the years to come. So I’m making it a point to share these stunning pieces more often so that you can see the quality and beauty of the albums that my couples get to treasure and enjoy!

Today, I’m excited to show off Cassie & Kiran’s album in this beautiful oxblood color. I’m so pleased with how it came out (shoutout to my amazing design team over at Align) and so happy they get to cherish their wedding memories through this keepsake. Enjoy some of my favorite spreads!

So gorgeous right?? It’s such a happy thing to package and mail off these beauties to my incredible couples! If you’re on the fence about whether or not you should spring for the higher package with the album, I can honestly say it’s so worth it. You would never regret having something this high-quality that will stand the test of time so much more successfully than flimsy photobooks and stacks of prints. So as both a photographer and bride, I always say yes to albums!

You can click on over to the full wedding post for more of Cassie & Kiran’s gorgeous day!

Thanks to Align Album design and Tori for sharing your posts!

Happy Firday! Today we have a post by STEPHANIE MESSICK PHOTOGRAPHY.  Stephanie is a wedding and portrait photographer based out of Warrenton / Northern Virginia. She loves statement jewelry and pretty packaging, has a cat named Pixie and her family is one of her favorite things. She is featuring our 10×10 steel linen, 10×10 light tan linen and 10×10 light brown calf.  Enjoy her post!

Why should you invest in a wedding album? This is a loaded question but I hope that this blog post will show you the importance. Not only are they gorgeous, but THIS is the one thing you can pass down from generation to generation … that itself is priceless. Wouldn’t you want your children to share your love story to their children’s children? Thankfully to my mom holding on to some albums from a LONG time ago, I have had the opportunity of glimpsing in to my great grandmother’s life. As a Shoot and Share photographer, it is easy for my couples to love their USB Drive with all of their edited hi-res digital files. However, there is a downside to this … leaving those precious memories/images on that very disk for it to go nowhere. I try to encourage my couples to print on a great quality printer opposed to Walmart, but I realize that life gets busy and we tend to push these tasks off. I mean, posting them on Facebook is good for now right? I wish I could agree but Facebook will soon be diminished before we know it! I absolutely encourage to get your wedding album done before those images sit on the shelf for years to come. I offer wedding packages including a wedding album and without a wedding album  as I realize that this is something my couples may not have the money to pay at the moment. I have had several of my couples approach me about doing albums for them after the wedding and I am thrilled they decide to come back to have it designed/printed! Absolutely an investment, but SO worth it!!!

I just received my new sample albums in the mail and I’m thrilled to be sharing them with you all today! If I was this excited about the albums, I cannot even imagine what it would be like to be a couple receiving their own album! :) I know my couples are going to love these as much as I do! The quality is amazing with the thick/heavy pages and the craftsmanship is amazing! Beautiful leather and linen choices with variety of colors/textures, on point coloring of images not to mention that the images can pan from the left to the right page seamlessly creating a panoramic shot. The designs are customized to each couple. I personally design them and will send over proofs for my couples to make changes so it is tailored to their vision. The design is laid out in a pristine, modern design so the attention is 100% on the photos. If you want to see a customized design from start to finish, check out the virtual magazine at the bottom of this blog post for a first hand look. :)

To my past/current brides, if you are interested in learning more about these albums feel free to email me and I will send over information for you to check out. :)

Here’s a peek at my sample albums!

Happy Monday! Today we have a post by JULIA JANE STUDIOS.  Julia is a lifestyle and family photographer based in Fairfield County, CT. She believes in rolling down hills, snow ball fights, and splashing in puddles. She also still believes that life has room for wonder if we can find the time for it.  Enjoy her post!

There’s a new sample album in the office and it is GORGEOUS!

It’s a 12×12 flushmount album in dark brown premium leather and I am in love! It’s the perfect heirloom to display your favorite images and ensure that generations of your family have a gorgeous way to look back on your big day!

Today we have another post from MARIA SHARP.  Maria is a photographer based in Cleveland, but she’s available worldwide.  Visual story telling is at the core of her photography and she seeks out the intimate moments that sometimes go unnoticed. She is featuring our 12×12 book in black faux leather. Enjoy!

This wedding was one of my favorites this year, so of course, when I was designing the sample album I wanted to make it BIG. A 12 x 12 leather album was the perfect fit to tell the story of Suzie & Jack. The leather feels luxurious, and the black is quite stunning. I love seeing a wedding carefully curated in an album. It’s how the photos are meant to be seen. Madera does a beautiful job with my albums and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with the job.

See more from the Messer wedding, here.

This week we have a post by ADRIENNE MATZ PHOTOGRAPHY.  Adrienne is a lifestyle and wedding photographer based in Philadelphia, PA. She is inspired by classic style and enduring romance. Aside from photography she loves kayaking, hiking, spending time with her husband and labradoodle and watching romantic films. Enjoy her post!
If I have to give one bit of advice on what to do with your photos after the wedding, it will always be to PRINT THEM in an ALBUM! There is nothing quite the same as paging through a beautiful photo album of your day. I can’t imagine having to click through 1000+ photos on the computer to relive my wedding day. The album is the way to go friends! It is a culmination of all the wonderful memories of the day presented in a beautiful book that tells your story.
Making an album on your own with the images from your wedding with an online lab may seem like a good idea. The thing you have to acknowledge with these online album companies is that unless you are having a designer develop your album and are using a professional printer you will not receive anywhere close to the same quality and treatment that your beautiful photos deserve. One of the key words that shapes my photography brand is TIMELESS, so I wanted to offer something that is going to last. I looked long and hard for an album company and landed on Madera. The thing that stood out to me about Madera albums was their standard of quality. Madera albums  are gorgeous hand-crafted fine leather flush-mount books constructed from only the best quality materials and workmanship. When I say hand-crafted, what I mean it is each album is made by skilled artisans with their hands, not by a machine! You can check out this short clip that shows their binding process here. I am obsessed with the high quality of these albums!
Jenni & Tyler went with a 10″ x 10″ black leather album and I think it just came out beautifully. I just LOVE the cutout image on the cover!

Screen Shot 2016-03-11 at 11.58.31

Just look at how flat the pages lay!

Screen Shot 2016-03-11 at 11.58.47

Each page is made of thick, unbending cardboard (I tried to use my fingers to show just how thick these pages are.)

Screen Shot 2016-03-11 at 11.59.09

Here are a few spreads I designed for Jenni & Tyler.  You never have to worry about design.  I include full design services for each album purchased and work with you to make sure everything looks great.

Screen Shot 2016-03-11 at 11.59.20

I love how clean, classic, and sleek these spreads look.

Screen Shot 2016-03-11 at 11.59.35

Albums come with 15 pages (30 sides) and are available as 10” x 10” or 12” x 12” sizes.  Additional pages can always be added.

Screen Shot 2016-03-11 at 11.59.55

They also include custom imprinting on the spine and cover  – here is the cover imprinting.  I love how this looks!

The next set of albums were for Ashley & Michael.  They also went with the classic black leather 10″ x 10″ option and opted to order two parent albums as well.  Parent albums are the perfect gifts to present to the parents of the couple after the wedding!  They are available as 8” x 8” – here they are on top of the couple’s album.

The parent albums include custom imprinting on the cover.

Each parent album is a  clone of the bride and groom’s book with the family photo spread updated to the couples preference.

Here are a few design spreads from Ashley & Michael’s album:

See the gap between the pages?  I didn’t think so. One of the great qualities of these albums are how THIN the crease line is!

They had their wedding date imprinted on the side of the album.

Screen Shot 2016-03-11 at 12.03.13

Each main album comes in a heavy duty protective case

Screen Shot 2016-03-11 at 12.03.39

They make it super easy to remove the book from the case with no fingerprints :)

Albums come in a variety of colors and fabrics to perfectly match your weddings theme or house decor.  Below are a few of the most popular choices:

Purchasing an album is an investment that is going to last a lifetime.  Don’t let this turn into the “one thing I wish I had from my wedding” – get it done right from the start! Brides, shoot me an email if you are interested in more information!
