Madera Books

WPPI 2016

It’s that time again! If you’re one of the 15,000 or so photographers going to Las Vegas next week we’d love to see you!  No, not in the tradeshow.  If you know us, by now you know that we’re not really the tradeshow types. We actually have a few opportunities to say hi, a couple to see the books, and at all of them we’ll make sure you don’t leave thirsty.

Join us Monday and Tuesday afternoons from 3pm-6pm at our suite in the MGM Signature for beer, wine, cocktails and… of course you can see the books and ask questions too!

Bring you friends over for a drink on us!

We’ll email/tweet/instagram/facebook the suite number once we confirm it on Sunday afternoon.

Madera, Blogstomp and Shootproof are joining forces to save the world… well we’re trying to raise money to help Thirst Relief bring clean water to the world.  We’re taking care of the cost so 100% of the ticket cost goes to Thirst Relief.  Come party with us in our favorite suite in Las Vegas and help bring clean water to those in need in the process!

There are a limited number of spots. Click here to secure your ticket!

Looking forward to seeing everyone!  Hit us up on social media if you have any questions or want to find us in Vegas!

See you there!

Happy Monday! This week’s post is by RACHEL RUFFER PHOTOGRAPHY.  Rachel is a photographer based in Waterloo, Iowa, but will go anywhere to photograph amazing couples and HS seniors.  She is obsessed with all things weiner dogs, loves Harry Potter and top knots, and would do anything to live in France. She is featuring our 10×10 size navy leather. Enjoy her post!

The FedEx driver came a day early. My heart sank when I got home and saw the tag on my front door, but I quickly signed to bottom and put it back. Then I waited. The next day after returning from running errands, it was there. I always get excited when albums arrive. There is something magical about opening them up and flipping through the pages. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience, and being part of a digital generation, I absolutely love the non-digital-ness of it. Yep, I just made that word up.

MADERA BOOKS is the most wonderful album company I’ve ever encountered. They are simple and easy to work with, they have the BEST customer service (hey, Cyndie!), and their albums are top notch. But instead of trying to tell you, let me just show you.

Look at this gorgeous box that every wedding album comes in. Incredible.

I absolutely love the stamping options. I think it gives the album an extra special touch.

My favorite thing about Madera is that their wedding albums aren’t folded. I think there is something gross about the bumpiness of a folded page, and I much prefer the sleek, clean cut of Madera. Small enough to not be distracting, but large enough that it keeps the pages in pristine condition.

The pages are so thick and the experience of turning each page is unbelievable.

Oh, and of course I also love the special little touch of adding my branding to each album.

For all you photographers out there, I highly recommend that you check out Madera. They just recently released a linen album and I can’t wait to get my hands on one. This album is a 16-spread (32 pages) 10×10 album. I designed it using KISS’s SWAT DESIGNER (enlisted), and proofed it to the client with the SWAT proofing system.

Thanks so much Rachel for sharing your post!

This week’s post is a bit of a throwback (2013) and it’s brought to you by RACHEL THURSTON PHOTOGRAPHY. Rachel is a wedding + lifestyle photographer and besides photography she loves traveling, she lives for good food, sunshine and, more than anything, being a mom. She is featuring our portrait book and our linen book in smoke, both are 10×10. Enjoy!

You guys, I really really like these custom books that I offer to my clients.

I have posted images of the leather version here…but wanted to show off the portrait book (with a printed cover) and the linen book that I offer as well.

Clean, simple, classic. Handmade. Not going to be outdated tomorrow. The pages are thick and with these books there is just a folded gutter…which some like more than a split gutter (which comes with the leather books)…I like both for different reasons.

Most of the time I am laying these out for wedding clients but holy moly they would be beautiful books for family sessions or a birth story.

Thank you so much Rachel for sharing these lovely pictures!
