Madera Books

Hello friends! Just in case you didn’t see our holiday deadline email here are the important dates and details you should know:

Orders must be placed by FRIDAY NIGHT, DECEMBER 4th, at MIDNIGHT, PST.

Ordering the book by December 4th means that the book will be delivered to you before Christmas and Hanukkah. If you need to ship the book once you receive it, you’ll need to order the book a few days earlier.  Another option is to DROP SHIP the book directly to your clients. No invoices or paperwork are included in the packaging.

We’re also giving you the ability to order a book later and pay a RUSH fee.  If for some reason you can’t get the order in by December 4th you will have the option of paying a 30% rush fee which will give you an extra 4 days to get the book in.  TUESDAY NIGHT, DECEMBER 8th, at MIDNIGHT, PST, will be the RUSH deadline.  Again, this will insure that YOU or the drop ship recipient will receive the book by Christmas.  If you need a few days to deliver or mail the book after receiving it be sure to give yourself a couple extra days.
Please remember, in order to give our workers time with their families after an incredibly busy few months, we will be closing the factory down from December 23-January 4.  If you order any books after December 8th without adding the rush option, please understand that these days will not be included in the typical 15 business day turnaround.

Feeling overwhelmed with so many albums to design this time of year?  Let us help!  We offer album design!  For just $79, $99, or $119 we’ll design up to 20, 30 or 40 spreads, upload to Album Exposure for proofing, and do 2 rounds of revisions!  Additional rounds of revisions are $25.

This week we have a post by MIKKEL PAIGE PHOTOGRAPHY.  Mikkel is a professional photographer who will personalize your day! She is based in New York City and North Carolina but often travels to destinations near and far to capture special moments. She absolutely loves blue skies and sunshine, sour straws, a good dirty martini and an amazing fireworks show (not necessarily in that order) ;-)…oh yes, and emoticons. She is featuring our 10×10 in black calf. Enjoy!

There’s no better way to cherish the photographic memories of your day than a fine art, family heirloom keepsake album. This is a book your family will enjoy for generations to come. I adore Vered and Kevin’s black leather album!

We are proud to source our heirloom wedding albums from a wonderful company called Madera Books. Lay-flat pages are hand-bound with premium leather and delivered in a sturdy clamshell storage box. Every time I receive an order, I am impressed by the beautiful design, craftsmanship, and care that goes into each piece.

This week’s post is by BELLA VITA CREATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY. Dana is the woman behind the lense and a natural light photographer based in Mount Vernon WA. She is a self described sentimentalist and loves all things Italian.  In this post she is featuring our 8×12 in Winston Premium Leather.  Enjoy!

When I was a little girl, I remember being a bit obsessed with my mom’s scrapbook album. Even though the book was nearly falling apart, I never tired of turning the big, black pages, pulling them close to my face, and studying the people in the photos.

I would peer at the faces of my parents as 20-year olds, put the book down, and then the questions would begin. “What did you think the first time you met Dad?” I’d ask. I remember Mom telling me that she was getting so old that she often didn’t remember all of the details. I was horrified, wondering how anyone could forget those things!

I can’t imagine growing up without those photos. They gave me a sense of my place in our family, and of my parents’ place in their own families. It was surreal to see my parents as young people and to imagine their lives before I came on the scene.

Little did I know back then, but those albums created bonding times between my mom and I. And little did I know that one day I would become a photographer with a mission to preserve those same kind of memories and bonding times for others.

My search for a wedding album to provide for my clients was extensive. It needed to be high quality. And beautiful, something so well-made that it would stand the test of time for generations to come. When I found Madera Books, the search was over.

Take a look at this beautiful album featuring Jami and Bjorn’s gorgeous wedding at Nature’s Connection Place in Arlington, Washington. The 8×12 embossed premium leather album comes in a black leather case and is made with old world craftsmanship.

Remember, it’s never too late to order your wedding album. These tangible memories never depreciate over time. Instead, they only grow more priceless.

This week’s post is brought to you by LILY SZABO PHOTOGRAPHY. Lily prides herself on being a photographer for people who normally hate having their picture taken. She also loves to travel and is a fanatic NY Jets season ticket holder. Enjoy her post!

There’s something special about a wedding album.  Turning each page, reliving the journey of the day and taking in each photograph as part of the whole.  When I decided to start offering albums to my couples, I thought about what I would want: something affordable but high quality, something more modern than the traditional frilly album, maybe even something with variety.

Madera Books fulfilled all of these requirements and more.  Their albums are handmade (but affordable!) and come in a variety of sizes and materials.   Each book comes in a beautiful storage box that will fit right in on your bookcase and the covers are inviting, this is an album that you want to look at more than once!  The thing I love about Madera the most is the ability to have an image across a spread of pages with no interruption, called “lay flat” pages.

Below are a few images of a 12″ x 12″ Smoke Linen album with a cover image.  If you have any questions about these beautiful albums, or would like to know the other customization options, please feel free to send me an e-mail!
