Madera Books

Today’s post is brought to you by MATT N NAT PHOTOGRAPHY. Matt and Nat are husband and wife wedding photographers based in Lancaster, PA.  They love getting to know the people they work with, hearing their stories and sharing in their lives. They are featuring our 10×10 linen book in slate.  Enjoy their post!

Matt and I always look for quality, particularly when it comes to the books that will be holding the images we have taken for our couples most special day. We were recently introduced to Madera Books and instantly fell in love! We don’t take changing albums companies lightly, but felt that our previous one was not giving us the quality it had for the first 6 years of our business. So, last year we ordered out first Madera Book and it was everything we hoped it would be :)

So why do we love these albums so much?

1. Madera is an album company for professionals. Why is this important? Because it means that there is a standard of quality that we can count on each time we order an album. We know that the materials, colors, binding and cover will be perfection when it arrives in the mail. And that it will stay that way for years to come as it’s looked at over and over again to re-live those moments that go by so quickly.

2. The lay flat pages are incredible. The gap between the pages is almost non existent and makes those full spread portraits even more stunning!

3. The album boxes are perfect for each size/type of album (there are leather albums as well, but we’ll save those for another post). They protect these memories and look great while they do it!

We can honestly say we’ve never been so excited to get these albums out to their new owners :) So, here’s a little peek at what all the fuss is about. Featuring the stunning wedding of Kristen & Paul at Drumore Estates.

Happy Friday! Today we have a post from BETH HAMILTON PHOTOGRAPHY.  Beth is a wedding and portrait photographer based out of the Hampton Roads area of Virginia but available for travel! She also loves animals and really spicy food. She is featuring a 10×10 in medium brown calf. Enjoy her post!

One of my goals for a while was to get a new leather sample album.  Couples I’ve met with in the last year or so know that for a while, my sample was Nick and I’s wedding album!  Obviously it was filled with pictures of Nick and I and not pictures that I had taken myself, so that wasn’t ideal.  Jennifer and Graham’s wedding was definitely a favorite and I’d been working on their album to use as a sample for a while now.  Finally this winter I was able to finish it and I’m so happy to have it to share now!  I really can’t express how beautiful these albums from Madera are.  You have to see them in person to really understand their quality.  This particular leather is their premium calf in medium brown, but there are a TON of cover options!

Every album comes with a sturdy box to keep it clean and safe when you’re not looking at it.

This week’s post features KATIE NESBITT PHOTOGRAPHY.  KATIE is a Virginia based editiorial wedding + lifestyle photographer whose main life goal is to travel the world. She’s also a wife, cat lover, and taco devotee. She’s featuring our 10×10 linen book in chocolate. Enjoy!

I love it when our clients choose to complete their experience with us by purchasing an album! I think albums are the best way to enjoy your wedding images. Too many of us (myself included) only look at our images on the computer or on our phones. Which, is definitely a way to view them, but it’s no way to experience them. Albums are wonderful because the colors are printed the way that we saw them as artists and they are laid out intentionally. So rather than looking at a bunch of images in consecutive order, you’re looking at the story of your wedding day!

Claire and Matt were one of my favorite couples to work with last year, so their album obviously ended up being a favorite as well! They ordered two copies (one for them, one as a gift for family) and chose a chocolate linen cover for their books.

This week we have another great post by DEREK HALKETT PHOTOGRAPHY.  Derek specializes in wedding and lifestyle photography and works throughout the New England area.  He’s featuring a 10×10 in coffee linen.  Enjoy!

Just got this fantastic Madera Books Linen Wedding Album in for Sophie & Aaron’s wedding.  I am very impressed with both the leather and linen finishes of the Madera Books and the quality and finish of these books is second to none.  I will definitely be sticking with Madera for my future wedding album needs.

Today we’re featuring a post by SAMI RENEE PHOTOGRAPHY.  Sami is a lifestyle photographer based in Cleveland, Ohio, but loves to travel.  She also loves a good doodle, knock-knock jokes and indiana basketball.  Enjoy!

I absolutely LOVE photos. Growing up, I kept a box of pictures under my bed, made scrapbooks for big events, and even taped photos all over my wall. My photos were EVERYWHERE!

In fact, I still remember how torn I felt when I got my first digital camera. Yeah, it was fun being able to put my photos on Myspace (haha!), but I missed being able to see those physical copies all. the. time. And now, it’s even worse! I rarely even take personal photos with my cameras…those are all found on my iPhone! And I’m a PHOTOGRAPHER!

But what about those moments that are just too valuable to live on a tiny little screen online? I mean, just think about it! You spend months (and sometimes years!) planning your wedding day. And let’s be honest, it’s not cheap! Most likely, you’ve paid thousands of dollars by the end of it — and a lot of that goes towards gorgeous photographs of your day, as it should! But to then just let those photos live on your iPhone?! Ayyyy it makes me cringe just thinking about it!

Enter, Madera :)

I am so excited to be able to offer these albums to my 2015 couples!!! I spent quite some time this past summer researching different options, and I am incredibly pleased with my decision to go with Madera. Madera books make for a beautiful, timeless, and personal display of all your favorite photos from your day. Needless to say, I am obsessed!!!

To show you just how awesome these albums are, I am going to share the most recent one I’ve worked on — a beautiful leather bound story of Aileen & Ethan’s wedding day!! I had so much fun designing this album for them, and was thrilled to hand it over to Aileen this past weekend :) But, don’t just take my word for it…see for yourself!

Screen Shot 2015-06-05 at 12.47.52 PMYour Madera album will come in a gorgeous display box for safe keeping — or, if you’re like me, you’ll just let that beautiful embossed cover show itself off!

Screen Shot 2015-06-05 at 12.48.03 PMlove how sturdy these albums are. This is a keepsake you will be able to someday pass down to your children and grandchildren  — they are that well-made! I especially love the way Madera binds their albums — you can see how flat the images sit: the crease is barely noticeable!! Perfect for those full-spread pages :)

Screen Shot 2015-06-05 at 12.48.21 PMSee what I mean??

Screen Shot 2015-06-05 at 12.48.35 PMAhhhh :) THIS is a book you can be proud to display!!

Screen Shot 2015-06-05 at 12.48.47 PMAnd, because I always loved looking at other photographer’s spreads, I wanted to share some of my favorite spreads I created for Aileen & Ethan!! I use AlbumStomp to design all of my pages, and it is a GAME CHANGER my friends! Not only is it super user-friendly and customizable, but AlbumStomp also allows me to easily share proofs with my brides and get immediate feedback! It’s a win-win in my book :)
