WHERE DO I SEND MY PRINTS?

We are an exclusively print and bind company. Our books stay in the same building from start to finish. This allows us to watch the book at every step of the process and insure the quality of the product we deliver.

WHAT KIND OF PAPER DO YOU USE?

All of our books are made with photographic prints. We currently use Fuji Crystal Archive paper for all of our books but we have a few fun custom options coming soon!

WHAT KIND OF PRINTERS DO YOU DO?

We print our pages on Noritsu and Durst professional large format printers.

SPREADS? PAGES? SIDES? LEAFS?

Who found a way to muddy the waters of a universally simple concept?

A page is a page. A spread is two facing pages. We work with spreads. All books have a minimum of 10 spreads. You can start and end your designs with spreads or single pages, whatever you like best!.

The books open up to the inside cover. Left and rights sides are blank. The images begin after the first page is turned… unless of course you want to start on a half spread, in which case, you know what that looks like.

WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF SPREADS?

The maximum number of spreads is 40. The minimum is 10.

DO YOU MAKE HORIZONTAL BOOKS OR JUST VERTICAL?

All of our books can be designed either VERTICAL or HORIZONTAL. For example 8×10 or 10×8. You do not need to specify the orientation in the order form. We’ll figure it out when we see your spreads.

ARE YOUR PAGES FOLDED OR CUT?

Our flagship product, The Leather Book, is made with cut pages standard. We have worked hard to make the gutter between our pages as small as possible. In fact, I don’t think there is a smaller gutter out there. It probably isn’t even possible to get smaller. It is a thing of beauty. It is an expensive and labor intensive process but when you see (or don’t see) the gutter for the first time you’ll understand why we do it.

The Portrait Book and The Linen Book come standard with folded pages.

CAN I GET FOLDED PAGES ON THE LEATHER BOOK?

There are benefits to both folded and cut pages. Cut pages will never crack or discolor. Folded pages don’t have a gutter (even though our gutter is *almost* invisible, it’s still there) If you would like folded pages on The Leather Book, just put it in the notes at the bottom of the order form.

It’s like the secret menu at In-N-Out… we don’t talk about it but if you ask for it, we’ll hook you up.

CAN I GET FOLDED PAGES ON THE LINEN BOOK OR THE PORTRAIT BOOK?

Absolutely. The Linen Book and The Portrait Book come standard with folded pages.

CAN I GET CUT PAGES ON THE LINEN BOOK OR THE PORTRAIT BOOK?

Cut pages are not an option on these books. Sorry.

WHAT IS YOUR TURNAROUND TIME?

Your album will SHIP within 15 *business* days. Business days do not include weekends, postal/national holidays or a select few other days throughout the year. Ground shipping is included in the price of all books and with the ship time included it could take UP TO a week after it ships for you to receive it. If you have a deadline inside the standard 15 business days plus shipping time, let us know. We will tell you if it is possible and what the extra charges will be to expedite the process, if there are any.

CAN I DROP SHIP THE BOOK TO MY CLIENTS?

Yep. Just click the drop ship button on the order form. Invoices are never included in the boxes so there’s never a need to worry.

HOW DO YOU TAKE PAYMENT?

We accept all major credit cards. While placing your first order you’ll be prompted to enter your credit card details. After your first order you won’t need to enter them again. Our system will securely keep your card information on file. If you ever need to change your card number, expiration date, etc., for any reason just give us a call or simply fill in the credit card information during your next order.

HOW DID MADERA GET TO BE SO AWESOME?

(a+b+c) – d = m

Its a simple formula, really.

a= a photographer who was annoyed with album companies
b= an awesome team of bookmakers making the best books possible
c= the nicest, most helpful customer service people ever
d= all the annoying, confusing terms and processes other album companies have
m= MADERA
